Marcelina is the founder of RESCOU, a counseling and training non-government organization.  She is a PhD candidate in Social Transformation. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling Studies (distinction – Durham University UK) and a Bachelor’s degree in Development studies (Distinction -Kimmage Ireland).  She also has a Higher Diploma in Counseling Studies and Advanced certificates in TOT, Counseling Supervision and Play Therapy. She is also a part time lecturer at Marist International University College and has trained and mentored many practicing counselors in Kenya. She is a member of Kenya Counselling & Psychological Association (KCPA). She has worked at the United Nations Office in Nairobi as consultant Staff Stress Counsellor. She worked with Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) setting up structures in the IDP camps in Western province and providing psychosocial support following the post poll elections in 2007/8; especially affected were children, girls and women.
